6th Class Girls Football
Our 6th class girls football team had a great day at their Cumann na mBunscol blitz in Shamrocks today.
In our first game vs Collinstown we came up against a very strong side and were really put to the test.
Our second game against Educate Together proved more successful as the girls really settled in and displayed some super football. We took an early lead and held on to it for the whole game.
We then faced St. Tolas in a very evenly matched game. The girls scored 2-2 and displayed some fantastic defending. They were competitive right until the end but ultimately lost out after the opposition scored a last minute goal.
We faced Fore in our final game. Again our girls performed well across the pitch and stayed competitive throughout, scoring 1-3. Unfortunately Fore were a very experienced side and they took the win on the day.
Ms. Newman and Ms. Corcoran are so proud of the girls attitude, performance
and team spirit on the day, as is the whole school! It is a joy to see so many of our girls playing football and how much they have improved since the beginning of the year.
Well done girls!
